NBA UPDATES 2/11/09

H-O-R-S-E

The competitors in the first NBA All Star Saturday night game of H-O-R-S-E have been unveiled: Kevin Durant (OKC THUNDER), O.J. Mayo (MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES) and Joe Johnson (ATLANTA HAWKS).

If a player makes a shot in H-O-R-S-E, the next competitor must make the same shot or receive a letter. A player gets an 'H' for his first miss and is eliminated once he has all five letters of the word. Players will have 24 seconds to execute their shots, and an NBA referee will rule if they're done properly. Dunking won't be allowed.

Mo Williams... an All Star

NBA has announced Mo Williams of the Cleveland Cavs will replace the injured Chris Bosh of the Toronto Raptors in the NBA All - Star game this weekend. Many around the league felt Williams was snubbed when the league announced its reserves but now has a chance to shine in Phoenix.

Cavs/Pacers...

A late controversial foul on Lebron James with .2 seconds left cost the Cavs their second loss last night. James scored 47 points and the Pacers defeated the Cavs 96-95.

IMO Granger was fouled but with that little time left in the game I don't think a free throw whistle should have been blown. The rules need to be changed. That late in the game they should have a "Jump Ball". An actual play should decide a game...not a tic-tac foul.
