This movie had me ready to go to a black college at 7. While I was accepted to a HBCU, I chose to stay closer to home.
I'm watching this movie tonight for this part alone. You couldn't tell me I wasn't Miss Dena (Shout out to my old roommate Ze-Ke...we had this scene down to a T!! Work!!!)

Fashion Corner: Sean Falyon/ Soupy Jones !!! 0 Grams of Wack!!!

I ran across these T-shirt's by Soupy Jones that were so symbolic to the above sentiment. (Both available here.)
Soupy Jones, one of the freshest streetwear lines out of ATL, is fishtailing the fashion industry with its bold and picturesque designs of what I call "bait interpretation". For the fable of Soupy Jones hook this line.
In addition to creating Soupy Jones, the West Philly native Sean Falyon, also doubles as a charismatic hip hop jester or fabler of sorts of "feel good music". Standing his ground with rappers turned designers like Kanye West, Eve, Snoop Dogg, and Jay-Z to name a few; Mr. Falyon "The Great", used fashion as his launch pad for his pursuit in the music game.
If you havent yet been introduced....Allow me!

NBA Scores Around the League 2/2/09
With Andrew Bynum out 8-12 weeks with a Torn MCL the “Kobe-Ster” led the Lakers past the NY Knicks last dropping 61 points and 3 assists. This was the Lakers 3rd straight win on the leg of a 6 game road trip.
It was a night of injuries in the league as Jameer Nelson of the Magic went out with a dislocated right shoulder and did not return. The Hornets' Chris Paul left the game against Portland with a strained right groin muscle and did not return.

Age Ain't Nothing But a Number
Come on it's a slow Tuesday...I had to hit you with another joint! Let's go back...way back, back into time!
TAKING IT BACK TUESDAY
So we have "New Music Friday", why not have Taking it Back Tuesday (that even sounds old school). I'm a hip-hop head and the music out the late 80's/early 90's set the foundation for this genre. It then had it's resurgence in the late 90’s with J Dilla ripping every track known to man. This will go down every Tuesday so sit back and enjoy!

Music Corner : Hollyweerd on Vimby

Check out Hollyweerd, Dreamer, Tuki, Stagolee and Love Crusader , on Vimby.com as they introduce the rest of the world to that "weerdomism" ( I just made that up) that has the ATL underground music scene going nuts!
The Real World: Raise Your Credit Score to 740

As lenders tighten credit requirements, getting a good interest rate -- or a loan at all -- requires that you understand how the scoring system works.
MSN Money
As mortgage rates tumble, many would-be buyers and refinancers are missing the chance to lock in loans at record lows. The reason? Their credit scores aren't high enough to qualify for the best rates and in some cases are too low to qualify for any loan at all.

Fashion Corner: Payless Stepping It's Game Up With Luxury Designer
Whoa... I was surprised to see this shoe on the Payless website. For Spring, Abaeté for Payless Gabriel Gladiator, this is a funky gladiator heel by Abaete' for Payless. And with it being priced at only $38.00, its a "no brainer".
Abaeté, (luxury apparel from So-Ho based designer Laura Poretzky), is a five year old label that started out as solely swimwear and quickly evolved into ready-to-wear. It has been on board with Payless since 2006, designing for them a capsule line of shoes.
THE NFL SEASON IS OVER...
The NFL season has officially come to an end ((insert sad face >>>_<<<))! Last night’s super bowl turned out to be better than many expected. I sure wish the Cards had played the intensity and sense of urgency they had in the 4th quarter the entire game. Larry Fitzgerald wasn’t even a factor until the fourth quarter grabbing 2 touchdowns, prior to that he had 1 reception for like 12 yards. Now I expected cover 2 defense on Fitz but I just knew Boldin would have a break out party this game (he didn’t) and the Cards rushing yardage was terrible. I must admit I did have a slight smirk on my face for a good 5 seconds after the Cards grabbed the lead late in the 4th to go up by 3points. That is until I looked at the clock and saw the Steelers were getting the ball back with over 2 minutes remaining, all their timeouts and the 2 minute warning in their favor. As much as I despise the Steelers and those god awful Terrible Towels, I knew it was just too much time remaining. While I had my fingers crossed for overtime match-up Santonio Holmes killed my little dreams. While I refuse to give my Congrats to the Steelers ((HEY I’M A BENGALS FAN AND STILL NOT OVER WHAT THEY DID TO MY MAN CARSON IN THE 05 PLAYOFFS…SUE ME!!)) I will say the team that played best for the entire 60 minutes won the game.
Now that the big game is over guys are getting ready to head to Hawaii for the Pro Bowl. Whoever came up with the idea of having a All Star football game at the end of the season is crazy as hell. While I'll watch (just cause it gives me a chance to see guys with their helmets off) that is one boring ass game!
Fashion Corner: Making the Rules - Mixing Metals

Mix your Metals
Remember when folks would say it wasn't cool to mix your metals. "Don't wear gold and silver together". Well all of that is out the window. Mix Your Metals, that old adage of wearing only silver or gold is gone: An armful of bangles in both—the shinier the ores the better—suddenly feels right.
